While roaming around a community garden I spotted this meadow hawk (according to iNaturalist) perched on a plant. I used my macro lens, but still did an aggressive crop while editing to focus on the meadow hawk, and eliminate the busy background.

iNaturalist tells me this is a meadowhawk; what were generally called darning needles when I was a kid. I saw it during a morning ramble in a community garden. It was calm, and the meadow hawk stayed perched on the plant long enough for me to make several images.
