This house is a companion to the concrete block barn shown in images posted earlier. The house is also of concrete block construction, and appears to have endured well since it was abandoned. Again, I replaced the nondescript sky with something more lively in post-processing.

An abandoned farm house located at the northern edge of the Great Sand Hills, near Sceptre, Saskatchewan. The remnant of a wild storm that had passed through overnight looks over the scene the following morning.

This abandoned house or cabin sits beside the entry road to Pine Cree Regional Park. The fields behind it are cultivated, and had been harvested before I took this image.

I took this image in September 2013, on my way to the Great Sand Hills in southwest Saskatchewan. There had been a terrific electrical storm overnight, but because of the light soil there were few traces of the rainfall. The remnants of the storm can be seen here, moving off to the southeast. Using the better editing tools now available, I decided to try editing the image. With a 21:9 crop and some tweaking to the sky and the vegetation, I think it makes a better image.

Another view of a fieldstone house, this time converted to monochrome, and then a bit of colour added back in. I added some blue to the sky, and yellow to the grasses growing along the fence line.

A house and garage in Frankslake, Saskatchewan, northeast of Regina. Both buildings appear to be abandoned, although someone is cutting the grass around the yard and tending to the flowers growing in the homemade planter.

An abandoned fieldstone house now surrounded by farm fields. A local legend is that the door and window on the south side were closed off after a mother witnessed her child killed by a passing train on the nearby rail line.

Another view of the wood frame and fieldstone house. The building is surrounded by fields. Any trace of a road to the building is long gone.

An abandoned house (houses) near Zehner, Saskatchewan. I imagine that the wood frame house was built first, and as the farmer who settled here had some success, and had gathered many stones from the fields, grafted the fieldstone addition onto the original building.
