An abandoned house at a community called Readlyn. Most of the community was located in a pretty valley, but this house was perched on top of a rise overlooking the valley. The house belonged to one of the first settlers, a man named Thompson, who had a farm equipment dealership and gas station there.

It was common for settlers in Saskatchewan to replace their first house with a better one, if they were successful. In this case I surmise that the settler grafted the stucco covered addition onto the original wood frame house. This house sits beside a grid road north of Indian Head, Saskatchewan.

Surrounded by farm fields, and located about a kilometre from a main highway, this house really stands out. This house is located south of Leader, Saskatchewan.

This impressive house is visible from a highway, and so is a natural draw for photographers. Captured in evening light in early August.

There were so many objects around this abandoned house I decided to shoot is as a vertical. I think the object in front is a car chassis that has been converted to a wagon.

A meandering stream gurgles with spring runoff, overlooked by an abandoned home and shed. Patches of snow can still be seen in shaded areas, while a bit of green in the lower left hints at a new season of growth taking root.
