Loppa timelapse

My first ever timelapse, made from 196 photos using Picasa. It's a bit hectic because I kept changing my viewpoint too often but I hope it manages to give an impression.

Aurora over Vestfjord (0:43 a.m.) with a bright moon and the light of Landegode Fyr. It was clear enough to see the Lofoten Islands in the distance.

Morning blue hour at Ørnes harbour. Ørnes has ca. 1600 inhabitants and is the centre of Meløy kommune. It is a regular Hurtigruten stop and a busy hub for fjord ferries to the many islands in the area. In summer it's a popular tourist spot with Svartisen glacier one of the main attractions.

Aurora over Nærøysund bridge
28 Mar 2015 |
Northern lights started around 9.30 p.m. at Rørvik, this was taken at 10 p.m. sailing south through Nærøysund ( Kp-index 5-6) . Also see inset picture!
Some time after midnight the Kp-index rose to an insane 8-9. The auroras began flickering like disco lights, moving incredibly fast- impossible to photograph anymore.
Aurora off Berlevåg
27 Mar 2015 |
Taken from Hurtigruten ship MS Vesterålen just off Berlevåg. In the circumstances -up to 8 Beaufort, we didn't manage to get into the harbour- this was the best I could come up with. One deck lower the camera got wet with sea spray.
