Das Bauernhaus aus dem 14. Jh hatte ursprünglich ein Reetdach, das im 16./17. Jh durch das jetzige Schieferdach ersetzt wurde. Im 19. Jh diente das Haus als Postamt, heute gehört es dem National Trust. A 14th century yeoman's house, originally thatched, this house served as a post office in Victorian times. St. Michael's Mount lies on a tidal Island in Cornwall and is reached by causeway at low tide. In the 11th century it was given to the Benedictines by Edward the Confessor and was the Cornish counterpart to Mont Saint-Michel. Since the 17th century is has been the home of the St. Aubyn family. The current castle dates from the late 19th century and it is now managed by the National Trust .
