Immaculate and, to judge by the name badges and "Made in Great Britain" sticker, much loved. I caught sight of an elderly couple leaving in it. The badges on the back seem unusual to me (shouldn't it say "Metro" somewhere?) suggesting that the car has probably been restored and resprayed, rather than being one of those very low mileage cars that only comes out of the garage very occasionally.

Shows how small cars have grown in the last thirty years or so (although the Metro's tyres and suspension do need pumping up, and it is parked where the drive slopes down to a drain, which exaggerates the comparison a bit). The only things that haven't grown are the windows. The Metro's big glass area was actually trumpeted as a safety feature in early advertisements "(if you see better, you drive better)". I haven't noticed a manufacturer saying anything like that for quite some time!
