On the east end of town is another modern gas station and truck stop at the I-40 crossing that bit the dirt. This town can't win.

Old Newberry Springs gas station not used in the movie. By the way, the real Bagdad, CA site is about 40 miles east on Route 66, and there is nothing left of it.

Farther east is the prince of dying Route 66 towns, Newberry Springs. This modern station couldn't make it, even at an I-40 intersection.
