Went to Neuengamme again where I'm taking part in a photography project together with my camera club. (Please view # 270|366 also.) They've reconstructed part of the barbed-wire fence that once surrounded the camp. It was a double electric fence, and there were several parallel strips of barbed wire set in front of it on the inside to prevent inmates from electrocuting themselves by running into the fence. Prisoners were not supposed to kill themselves, as they had to do slave labour for various industrial companies, mainly producing bricks but later also weapons (e.g. for Walther, the famous brand of firearms) and other material needed in warfare. A recent visitor must have stuck this wildflower into the fence.
