Hier im Junkernfeld in der Seeveniederung blühen jedes Frühjahr (Ende April bis Anfang Mai) lila und weiße Schachbrettblumen (Fritillaria meleagris) auf den unter Naturschutz stehenden Wiesen des so genannten Junkernfeldes. Es handelt sich meines Wissens um das größte Vorkommen dieser schönen, jedoch leider stark gefährdeten Lilienart in Deutschland.

Diese rostige, alte Milchkanne ist eines der metallenen Objekte, die meine Nachbarin so sehr liebt, dass sie auf Flohmärkten danach Ausschau hält und sie dann überall in ihrem Garten aufstellt. Dies hier mag ich besonders gern, es steht in einer schattigen Ecke vor meinem Wintergarten und ist im Frühling umringt von den orangefarbenen Blüten des Islandmohns [papaver nudicaule]. One of the metal objects my neighbour is so fond of that she buys them at garage sales and scatters them around her garden. I especially love this one outside my conservatory for it is usually surrounded by the orange blossoms of iceland poppy [papaver nudicaule] in spring.

And before anyone asks again: No, I didn't dig a hole in the ground for the camera. The secret is that the Canon G12 has a pivotable display so you can stand the camera on the ground, turn the display by 90 degrees and look at it from above. Groovy! It's spring at Lake Krupunder - men are behaving like little boys playing with their model sailboats.
