Sose Odde is a strange place on the south coast of Bornholm - it's actually no more than a cluster of sheds and some fishing boats next to a concrete slope. There's not even a beach, for the waterline begins where the slope ends. The rusty metal is part of a winch.

Diese rostige, alte Milchkanne ist eines der metallenen Objekte, die meine Nachbarin so sehr liebt, dass sie auf Flohmärkten danach Ausschau hält und sie dann überall in ihrem Garten aufstellt. Dies hier mag ich besonders gern, es steht in einer schattigen Ecke vor meinem Wintergarten und ist im Frühling umringt von den orangefarbenen Blüten des Islandmohns [papaver nudicaule]. One of the metal objects my neighbour is so fond of that she buys them at garage sales and scatters them around her garden. I especially love this one outside my conservatory for it is usually surrounded by the orange blossoms of iceland poppy [papaver nudicaule] in spring.
