Originally this name has nothing to do with the world-famous Canadian pianist, as it is one of many names in St Mary's Church of Tyneham, painted on the walls in a frieze commemorating all the families who once lived there but had to leave during World War II, when the Army took over the valley as a firing range. But when I heard on the radio this morning that it's Glenn's birthday today I remembered that one of the names I read in that church was Gould. (According to Wikipedia, the Goulds lived in the Gardener's House.) So here it is.

... nicht hier, denn wir sind im Turme von St. Petri, Hamburg. Aber schaurig ist's hier auch, zumal ein Sturm ums Gemäuer weht, so dass der Turm merklich schwankt. Quasimodo is waiting... but not here, for we are inside the clock tower of St Petri Church, Hamburg. St Bega's is a tiny little church on the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake, Northern Lake District.
