A great many women store coins in a purse. Few men do this. Canon EOS 30D + Carl Zeiss Jena 50mm f/2.8 Tessar lens.

A damp Wednesday morning in Trowbridge. An attempt to do it the old way: 50mm prime lens (a Carl Zeiss Jena f/2.8 Tessar); manual focus, of course, and all-manual exposure setting. The camera was a Canon EOS 30D - I am not yet contemplating the final hurdle of film. The field of view with this camera and lens combination is similar to using a lens of 80mm focal length on a 35mm film camera. Only occasionally frustrating for wide shots, it is generally a satisfying general purpose lens. I bought one of Taylor's celebrated Wiltshire lardy cakes and the trader agreed to have his portrait taken. Quid pro quo.

Photographed with a Canon EOS 40D + Canon 35-105mm f/3.5-4.5 EF lens. This is a very good lens, although sadly my copy is temperamental and won't function at all in manual focus mode. It has had a long and hard life, yet can still turn in a virtuoso performance. Sadly the number of missed opportunities, where it seizes up, have led to it being designated a paperweight.

Canon EOS 40D + EF 35-105mm f/3.5-4.5 lens. Canon introduced the EF 35-105mm f/3.5-4.5 lens with the first EOS cameras in 1987. It is a slide zoom with an optical configuration very similar to the FD lens of the same description.
