The Limbo Connection's photos with the keyword: ring pull

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. (Psalm 23). I have no idea why this squalor which is endemic in my area should make me think of the comfort of the 23rd Psalm. Canon EF 35-105mm f/3.5-4.5 lens on a Canon EOS 30D camera. ISO 800; f/10; 1/320th; lens at 64mm (field of view equivalent 102mm).

I used two supplementary lenses in combination for this picture: a Nikon Close-Up No.4T screwed into the filter ring of a Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 AF-D lens, and a Minolta Close-Up No.1 screwed into the 4T. Even acknowledging the superior optical quality of these supplementary lenses, you can see the degradation from using two together. I certainly would not recommend the cheap thin types unless you deliberately want to create a low-fi look. The inescapable conclusion is to use a proper macro lens for close-up work.
