Nikon D700 with AF Zoom-Nikkor 35-70mm f/2.8 lens at 70mm f/8.
My experience of the AF Zoom-Nikkor 35-70mm f/2.8 is that no matter if I used it on full frame, as here, or APS-C, as on a Nikon D2Xs, I would almost always have it at 70mm (as here). On rare occasions when I did not have it at full telephoto, I used it at the widest it would go, ie 35mm.
This is not unusual. Other photographers have reported that with a zoom lens they are either fully at one end or the other.
I reduced the contrast and clarity of the photo in Lightroom. I thought it looked boring otherwise. I'm not entirely confident that it actually looks interesting now. Hey-ho.

Naish Hill Fingerpost (Looking North)

This fingerpost on the road between Devizes and Derry Hill is in a poor state of repair. It probably dates from before 1933 when a change in regulations resulted in the supporting posts being striped black and white. That being the case, this road sign might well have been lifted and stored in 1940 when a German invasion of Britain was imminent. No point telling the Wehrmacht the way to Naish Hill.

Bowden Park Gates

Bowden Hill rises steeply away from the river Avon at Lacock. Behind these gates is the Bowden Park estate and a country house (Grade I listed) which is not visible from the road. It was built in 1796. The estate is concealed by the slope of the hill and surrounding woodland.
