Photographed using a Canon EOS 40D and a Canon EFS 18-55mm lens at Semington on the Kennet and Avon Canal, Wiltshire. All canal narrowboats are steered by a rudder connected to a tiller. It looks easy but it takes practice and a good eye to anticipate the necessary adjustment. This girl was manoeuvring her boat into position to enter a lock. She did it with aplomb. 'Aplomb' is an unusual word. It is, however, easier to spell than 'manoeuvring'. Words derived from French can be challenging to spell correctly. But I digress ...

Fujifilm FinePix S3 Pro + Tokina SD 50-135mm f/2.8 DX AT-X Pro lens. The Tokina 50-135mm is a pro lens which provides crisp photographs. The FinePix S3 can be set to simulate film stock. Here I had it replicating the characteristics of Velvia.
