I Hate Gardening

17 Aug 2024 4 3 70
Strange things interest me. The past. The future. But seldom the present. For example: would my claim that the three Cream albums could fulfil all my musical needs if I were stranded on a desert island be proved if tested? Camera bags: a bit of a personal fetish. Typography. Jennifer Connelly's nose job. Not gardening, though. Nikon D2Xs and AF Zoom-Nikkor 35-70mm f/2.8 lens wide open at 40mm (a field of view equivalent to 60mm on a full frame camera). 1/250th at 200 ISO.

Dandelion Clocks

Nikon D2Xs + Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 AI lens. 100 ISO; f/7.6; 1/180th. Majestic. Statuesque. Indomitable. Unbowed. Undefeated. There is nothing more perfect than the dandelion.

The Universe is Full of Broken Fragments of Ideas

A photograph of a Nikon FG-20 with a Soligor 80-200mm f/4.5 zoom lens, hanging from a peg with a raincoat, alongside some dandelion clocks which I also photographed because dandelions are majestic and indomitable. All art is the result of observation. Often we see yet do nothing. Sometimes we do not notice at all. Ideas are fragile. They quickly vaporise if they are not preserved and developed. The universe is full of broken fragments of ideas.

Canon EOS 30D + EF 35-105mm f/3.5-4.5 lens. Canon introduced the EF 35-105mm f/3.5-4.5 lens with the first EOS cameras in 1987. It is a slide zoom with an optical configuration very similar to the FD lens of the same description.
