Shocked to discover that George’s father is having a torrid affair with Mrs. Barnard, the mother of Dick and Anne, the Famous Five row out to Kirrin Island to consult the Wise Siren who sometimes appears at high tide. The Siren uses her power to arrest their development and thus spares the children from the inconvenience of adolescence.

I was unsure of Druid etiquette but seeing no photographer, and being handy quite by coincidence, I filled in without formal invitation. The bride looked happy anyway.

I used an Olympus AF-1 Mini compact film camera to get this picture. It was weatherproof and unobtrusive but never in the league of a proper SLR camera. However, the best camera is the one you have with you.
