The Secret Service knew that Uncle Quentin's secretary was connected to an agency in Great James Street. Moving quickly, they detained Quentin at Dover with his suitcase containing the prototype guidance system. Meanwhile, Special Branch arrested a woman thought to be Quentin's secretary but she turned out to be a Surbiton housewife on a shopping spree in Bloomsbury. The real go-between was never found.

I used the venerable Canon EF 35-105mm f/3.5-4.5 lens from the early days of the EOS cameras. It is a push-pull design with the same optical formula as the old FD lens of the same designation.

The 'Evening Chronicle' was published daily in Bath, Somerset covering news in Bath, northern Somerset and west Wiltshire until 2007 when it was renamed the 'Bath Chronicle' and published weekly. It has had many changes of identity in its time. In the 1960s it became the 'Bath and Wilts Evening Chronicle' and in 1974 was retitled the 'Bath and West Evening Chronicle'.

Once this was news, glanced at, ignored. Now, it's a long time ago. We don't know those people. They died unnamed and unlamented by newspaper readers in England who were keener to learn the page on which the television programmes appeared. Google reveals nothing about this tragedy: it predates the internet and its pervasive grip. It was in the 'Daily Express' of Tuesday, April 30th, 1968. Photographed with a Nikon D700 and a 55mm f/3.5 Micro-Nikkor AI lens. A little bit of pathos in red ink on discoloured newsprint.
