Ajar (Grey) - Art Begets Art

11 Nov 2018 164
The photograph pinned to the dilapidated door is a feature in a folded A2 size exhibition programme provided when visiting Roche Court. It is of a sculpture in bronze, painted grey, by Gavin Turk, entitled 'Ajar (Grey)' which was in the sculpture park when I visited in August, 2015. Gavin Turk (b 1967) is a British born, international artist. He has pioneered many forms of contemporary British sculpture now taken for granted, including the painted bronze, the waxwork, the recycled art-historical icon and the use of rubbish in art.
