Photographed with a Canon EOS 40D (since sold) and a Chinon 55mm f/1.4 screw-thread lens from the 1970s era of M42 cameras and lenses. Mounted on the Canon by way of a cheap lens adapter. It was OK in colour but it looks more authentic in black-and-white.

I was using the Chinon 55mm f/1.4 lens on a Canon EOS 30D via an EOS - M42 adapter when I spotted these books stuffed untidily on a high shelf and noticed that the title of the lower volume provided an apt description of the book above. The photograph has been mightily cropped. I ought really have used a telephoto lens. Heigh-ho.
