Why? Maybe there is a link between the disposable glove and the nearby Open Reach BT boxes.

I think the red berries are from a rowan tree.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. (Psalm 23). I have no idea why this squalor which is endemic in my area should make me think of the comfort of the 23rd Psalm.
Canon EF 35-105mm f/3.5-4.5 lens on a Canon EOS 30D camera. ISO 800; f/10; 1/320th; lens at 64mm (field of view equivalent 102mm).

Tributes poured in this afternoon following the announcement of the death of Civic Pride. Mr Pride had been suffering from lassitude for several years and his passing had been expected as his will weakened and his grip on his responsibilities was surrendered. He will be greatly missed by the older members of the community.

The streets of England are squalid. It is a national disgrace. Our politicians are weak-willed and pusillanimous. It was not always thus.
Canon EOS 30D and EF 35-135mm f/4-5.6 USM lens. The settings for this photograph were ISO 200; focal length 65mm; speed 1/200th; aperture f/8. I am astounded by the clarity.

Discarded

Photographed with a Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 lens on a Nikon D300S in the grounds of Lacock Abbey, Wiltshire, where occasionally groups of students on photography courses assemble for practical instruction. I have deleted the telephone number in post processing to spare the college lecturer from a blizzard of indignant calls protesting over the wanton littering of a beautiful place by trainee troglodytes lacking good manners and a sense of social responsibility.

People leave messages, ribbons, and trinkets in the trees at Avebury. Once I found a silver half U.S. dollar wedged in a fold in the bark (I left it where it had been put if you're wondering). These things are known as votive offerings, or litter for short (maybe not the half dollar).
