The buttons look like little eyes. It is a bit disconcerting. Nikon D2Xs + Nikkor-H Auto 300mm f/4.5 lens with a Nikon TC-16A teleconverter. Weighed a ton.

Time goes by - years, sometimes - and I see the faults which could have been corrected. Often it is too late to correct. The moment has passed; the circumstances are different. But here: a conversion to black and white, a twizzle with the sliders in post processing. If sliders can be twizzled, which I doubt.

Cum on feel the noize. Nikon D2Xs and Nikkor 20mm f/2.8 AF-D lens. The D2Xs was introduced in 2006. I bought mine secondhand in 2011. It looked nearly new yet had 40,000 shutter actuations. It no longer looks as though it's just out of the box; more like it's just out of the boxing ring. This is image number 81,207.

I walk around the house. Things have changed slightly in this room. Some clothing is airing on clothes hangers suspended from a bookshelf. There is not much light but it is enough if a fast lens is used in combination with an elevated ISO. The colours are nice. The close-up effect of a standard lens on a cropped sensor is slightly enigmatic. The folds create shadows; the buttons reflect activity. This is a little slice of domesticity.
