Something to gaze upon as the winter months approach. On a nice bright day it's great to get the depth of field of f/11 aperture.

For the people who live and work at Lacock Abbey, Wiltshire, the courtyard is a handy place to park their cars. Often there are a dozen vehicles in this yard, although it is cleared when some wealthy film company want to use the surroundings as an authentic backdrop for a drama. Until recently there was a block of temporary lavatories in one corner. On other occasions mobile catering vans have been allowed to ply their trade here. You can see the convenience factor and the money-making opportunities readily enough.
