Wednesday, 12th March, 2014. Mid-afternoon and a bright spring day, yet quiet considering that Wells is a favourite place for tourists. Too early in the year, with weather being unpredictable and plans better laid for later days.

Entering a dark monochrome period. Using a Nikkor-H 85mm lens on an old Canon digital EOS. No idea why. This is a massive crop, a conversion from colour to B&W, a processing excursion with all the sliders. No idea why.

Photographed using a vintage Nikkor-H 85mm f/1.8 lens on a Canon EOS 30D via an adapter. A perverse act, since I had a Nikon I could have teamed up with this lens. Much processed and cropped.

Builders' rendezvous.

Lacock was buzzing with excitement over the filming of a movie capitalising on the success of the TV drama 'Downton Abbey'. Most visitors stayed outside the Abbey watching extras in pre-World War II clothing milling around, and the Royal Horse Artillery practising a circuit round the village. I felt confident there would be a cheese scone to augment an early breakfast, but alas! Too many mouths to feed elsewhere. Nikon D300s and Tokina SD 50-135mm f/2.8 DX AT-X Pro lens.

Via an adapter, this picture was made with a Nikon lens on a Canon EOS camera. Sometimes I do seemingly perverse things like this to reinvigorate myself.

Working with a Nikkor-H Auto 85mm f/1.8 lens made sometime between 1964 and 1972 and on the day I made this photograph rather perversely mounted on a Canon digital camera via an adapter. The field of view was thus more like 135mm in old money. Processed in Lightroom.
