This is a culvert or drainage level coming from the Ty'r Jenkins direction, possibly the Little Red Ash level of 1908-1913. A tramway probably ran over the top of it at one time but the soil has washed away.

Possibly the entrance to an old coal level? The first few yards replaced with modern concrete.
