In the mid 70's a tradgedy on the Penarth Line as a man tries to take a short cut across the line from Cogan to the Price Bros Woodyard that stood where Tesco's is today. He was hit by a train, and word spread rapidly around the town. I cycled down from the Pandora Cafe and took these pictures.

A small girls turns in surprise to see a steam engine entering Cogan station. Her mother still oblivious. This is A4 class 60019 Bittern running light engine as part of a positioning movement.

Intitially I was going to bin this blurred shot of A4 60019 Bittern at Cogan. The picture was taken in near dark conditions. But I decided I liked all the movement going on here. So I've kept it in. View On Black

Running backwards

A4 class 60019 Bittern running light engine to Cadoxton, near Barry, as part of a turning manoeuvre. It was getting dark by this stage.
