One of the biggest 'non-events' in Penarth recently was the flypast of an RAF Tornado in connection with reopening of Penarth Pier.

The unique Spitcaster of 1946 just too late to enter WW2 the unusual 9 engined bi-plane design enabled it to carry a far heavier bomb load than normal, but because of the extra fuel it had to carry, it's range was very short.
