A shot inside the Penarth Amusement Arcade which was situated on the now demolished multi-storey car park at Penarth sea front. This was where video game machines went to die. Two Space Invader machines in this picture. Also the location of Penarth's first Galaxian machine. A full colour game similar to Space Invaders but with aliens diving at you in formation. We used to queue for ages to have a go.

Who remembers these game tables in the pubs. This one was in the St Fagans pub in Penarth. But no self respecting pub in the early 1980's was without it's Pac-Man game.

In those days, the video games in pubs were a big attraction. Galaxian was the first full colour game. Before that we had Space Invaders with coloured strips of plastic over a black and white screen.
