Happy Saturday! (Or Sunday, depending on where you are.) That floral shape is the same one as in this year's "Space Spider", but heavily filtered and recolored. After its transformation, it made me think of candy corn. Hence the title and the kids' Western motif. Hope you enjoy seeing it as much as I enjoyed making it. Song reference , give or take a spelling change. :D The accidental candy corn via filtration has happened before. Here , for instance. But that always was a favorite Halloween treat for me. Heh. The last time I contributed to this series was in late 2020. Going back even further, to 2018... I think that was the last time I used that great-looking knife . I used the "Craquelure" filter to create the rough texture. At least, it's rough from a distance. If you zoom in, it looks a bit like tiger stripes though. A funny coincidence. (And also, if you see distortions when you zoom in close on my images, I'm sorry. It might be an ipernity bug but I've been too busy to investigate that.) Collage and colored pencil on board. Original size about 10 3/4" x 8 before framing. Made in 2004, but not originally posted until 11/7/06. I'll probably re-visit this theme at some point. (I really do miss making larger compositions.)

Two layers of "Texturizer" (Sandstone and Burlap) and one of "Sketch: Charcoal" over them.

Background is a blend of "Blur: Radial Blur" at a low setting with the Zoom option, and "Texture: Patchwork," run while card was tipped at a 45-degree angle. The set and type were run at different settings of "Distort: Shear." The main layer of paint circles have some "Artistic: Dry Brush." Other assorted changes and touch-ups.

Background is the "Sketch: Conte Crayon" in black and white, at 50%. The television screen is "Sketch: Halftone Pattern: Lines." Other misc. touch-ups.
