Was there ever a day in which you were stuck in the supermarket checkout line, with nothing to look at but those magazines? You know. The ones which demand that you bake rich desserts AND diet, simultaneously. If so, this piece is for you. :D (There's some brushwork on the mat, and a mix of the Sponge & Watercolor filters over the cake "tiles.") The background has two different settings of the "Texture: Texturize" filter. The heads have a medium percentage of "Artistic: Cutout" with a duplicate layer in normal state over them at about 35%. The type is outlined with Stroke. Other miscellaneous touch-ups.

The head and the watch gear have the "Artistic: Fresco" filter in Color Burn mode. The rest is mostly playing with brushes, stamps, Stroke, and Free Transform.

"Artistic: Paint Daubs," at a medium setting, on the pink "ice cream." Fill, Blur, and Smudge for some smoothing of the figure and the borders. Some type alteration with Polygonal Lasso. The vintage early 1970s doll hair was made a little more symmetrical through the magic of Cut/Copy/Paste.

Collage on board. Originally posted 6/26/07. There's a recurring motif in women's mags of the opulently stocked, hyper-stuffed refrigerator. It's sort of a plug-in cornucopia-- juxtaposed with whatever the diet-du-jour is. This has been true for, well, forever. So far as I can tell.

The variation, with some adjustments to type locale, color, skin, and hair. Also the "Pixelate: Fragment" filter.

Originally posted 10/13/06. There's two "Blur" filters at work in this version: "Gaussian" for the fruit and "Smart" to pop out the figure and the can a little bit.

Same card as before, run through the "Distort: Wave" filter. Except for the head, which got the "Blur: Smart" treatment to smooth it out. A few other tools were used as well. Posted 10/14/06
