Here I'm playing with "Command+Invert" and the "Paint Daubs" filter, mostly. I'm kind of stretching the definition of comics , but there is a balloon. :) See one original component here .

A combination of layers: "Artistic: Dry Brush," "Texture: Craquelure," (heavily sharpened, "Sketch: Bas Relief & Stamp," both with dark green "ink." Other touch-ups.
