Collage and colored pencil on board. Previously unposted. There are several "Doubles"-- cards that were made just by putting together a pair of duplicate images. They've all been tagged here with the word "double," even where their titles were different.

A trio of low-opacity layers up top: An unaltered layer (Hard Light mode), "Artistic: Underpainting," (with the Brick option; card was tipped first so that the "bricks" would form diagonal lines.), "Stylize: Glowing Edges" (Lighten mode). Below that is a high-opacity layer of "Distort: Wave" in Dissolve mode over another unaltered layer. Some blending with Erase and Clone Stamp. Other touch-ups.

Two different layers were cut in half to make "Quad" images, then run through "Artistic: Fresco." One was flipped over, then both were placed over the original layer at medium to high opacity. There's also some pink and green "spray paint" in dissolve mode. Leaves were copied using Free Transform. Other miscellaneous changes.

I had some of Braque's still lifes in the back of my mind this week. Though, yeah... I recognize that there could only be one Braque. Shown original size: 1063 X 624 pixels. See one source here .

"Artistic: Dry Brush" at full strength. Layered over it are two copies of the eye, enlarged with Transform and with medium opacity in a mix of modes. Other changes and touch-ups.

Copy and Transform made a new "quad" layer. It was run through the "Brush Strokes: Conte Crayon" filter in Overlay mode, with stroke and some blending tools used, too. The layer was then copied, flipped over and reduced to 50% opacity in Luminosity mode.

The "figure" and background each have different settings and modes of "Artistic: Film Grain." The Eraser tool was used at 50%-- to expose portions of the original image in the layer below. Other minor touch-ups, plus a thin line of Stroke on the outside of the comp.

Same card, with a "Sketch: Chrome" filter turned down in the background. A diluted version of "Artistic: Cut Paper" is underneath the gelatine dishes. A little repainting to try and make the glass rims more convincing. I've never been much of a painter, but I do have a cupboard full of cheap glass dishes that served as reference.

Same picture, after the "Rotate Image" option, the "Blur: Radial" filter and a going-over with one of those brushes that looks like a single eyelash. The eye was re-oriented with the Clone Stamp and a little help from the Blur and Smudge tools:

The "Blur: Radial Blur" filter is the last refuge for scoundrels and also for badly-considered layouts. It adds intensity and knocks out sloppy pasting with minimal effort. Plus no waxy yellow buildup. Other tools used were the eyelash brush (yes, it really does resemble a single eyelash on the Photoshop menu) and Clone Stamp, again.
