Was there ever a day in which you were stuck in the supermarket checkout line, with nothing to look at but those magazines? You know. The ones which demand that you bake rich desserts AND diet, simultaneously. If so, this piece is for you. :D (There's some brushwork on the mat, and a mix of the Sponge & Watercolor filters over the cake "tiles.") I'm foolishly in love with the tiny embossed doll-head stamps. :) Original size: 1000 X 750 pixels. One of several sources is here .

Same card, run with two different sizes of the "Pixelate: Pointillize" filter, about 70% and in "Difference" mode. The figures were Lassoed to leave them out of the filter, then touched up and repainted. The white zigzag line was added back with the Polygonal Lasso tool and the "Fill" option.

I worked over some of the sloppier areas with the Smudge and Clone Stamp tools first. The shell pink hue on the brush bristles in the original collage was sucked out with the Sponge tool, set on "Desaturate." That particular pink is apparently the result of the acids in old papers interacting with the gesso or polymer I use to put these things together. Sometimes it looks appropriate. Sometimes not. The truly odd thing is that usually after a year or so, it disappears from the composition and leaves the original white as it was before.
