1950s, 60s, and 70s source material, referencing an 80s club hit. Over the last month, I've been playing every version of "Pump Up The Volume" YouTube has to offer as I search for the version which seemed to show up on the NYC radio stations every night in 1987. The figure drawing is "Young Man Holding A Pole," by Mirabello Cavalori. The catalogue it's from says only, "14th to 17th Century," in regards to when it was done. Collage on board. A relic from the time when I could work with gigantic comps, because I had a studio space all to myself. This was the February cover for a local (free) culture mag that's long since passed. By being a stubborn ass, I even managed to get paid for it. :D Shown (considerably) smaller than the original finished size: 1' 4 1/2" X 1' 9 1/2".
