Part of the land in the provincial park where this was taken was once owned by monks who kept orchards here. Some of the trees (or perhaps their descendants) still grow here semi-wild, and the wind-falls provide an abundant late summer harvest for the local deer who feast on the fallen fruit.

Not a political statement. These are signs at the local “pick your own” orchard and are varieties of apple.
