Bee balm (Monarda didyma), supposedly a favorite of hummingbirds (although I'm too slow to photography them). It has an almost mathematical symmetry. It is very fragrant, and the leaves can be used to make herbal tea.

Ascending symmetry, head of a young lupin. My old (13 year) camera finally bit the dust a few months ago so I bought a new one a few days ago and having been playing with the buttons to get a feel for it.
