This butterfly bush was living up to it's name, with examples from at least four species either feeding or basking in the sun. Plus several bees ... There was a bit of a breeze and people walking around nearby, so catching a good image was quite difficult, especially as my camera was having a bad day. Maybe I had it on the wrong setting, or something.

Red Admiral on Buddleia.

Pair of "Red Admiral" butterflies making use of Buddleia davidii flowers. We have seen a lot of these in 2014.

The only example of Painted Lady (Cynthia cardui) that stayed long enough to be imaged (just), but as it was overhead and starting to move the focus is not brilliant. These are fairly rare this far north in the UK.

2014 has seen quite a few butterflies ------ this Buddleia has been visited many times. The two in this image are a Peacock (Inachis io) and a Small Tortiseshell (Aglais urticae).
