2017 to 2025 approval or not djt vs biden

Graph tracing the changes in favourable & unfavourable views of trump from 2017 to 2015 [#45 / #46 and now #47].
I find it astounding that djt's "dis-approval" rating rarely dropped below 50% over those eight / nine years, and his actual approval rating rarely topped 45% in the same period.

Telling analysis of the 2024 presidential election.
Looking at from this side of the pond, I strongly suspect - probably sooner rather than later - that a lot of people are going to regret [in-]directly supporting tangarineman. It is going to take a lot to sort out the mess from Project 2025.

Compare this graphic with the electoral college votes ...
2016 in particular stands out - Trump [red / republican won the electoral college] but lost the popular vote by over 2%.

Surprisingly [or not] trump's proposed cabinet includes anti-climate-change multimillionaires and those out to dismantle federal services.
It would seem that djt values "loyalty" over "ability" when assembling his team.
Will be interesting to see what happens when the new senate is tasked with confirming the nominations.

Biden in 2020 had well over 80million votes ...
Sad that Harris wasn't able to keep that lead in 2024

I know - on an intellectual history level - why they have the electoral college.
Personally, given modern technology I think it should be revised to more closely reflect votes cast - not the 'winner takes all' as at present. Better still, totally eliminate it and work only on votes cast.

Having enough correct information is a key factor in decision-making.
This cartoon is a humorous reminder that whilst the internet can help with the supply of information, there is a lot of very dubious - even downright wrong - data out there.
Take things with a pinch of salt until facts are verified, and that applies even to normally trustworthy sources.
