One of the Cormorants paddling around in West Strand, imaged during a fishing session, consisting of several long distance dives. By chance s/he stayed on the surface long enough !

Cormorant in the standard "wing drying" pose.
Judging by the amount of white visible, this is a juvenile.
I hope that he or she has a full crop of food to compensate for the soaking.

I had to look twice at the bird - this piece of public street art is a mock-up of a riverside mooring, with a cormorant in their typical "wing drying" pose on top.
I've seen this design of mini-gabions as bench and table legs several times - at least they can't be chucked around ...

Taken out of the car window, so slightly more tilted than I wanted ...
Cormorants on rocks in the middle of a Morecambe roundabout, with some blue-grey slate as the water surface.

Cormorant just resting on the edge of the "Coast to Coast" slipway [sign to the right] fro some reason the usual flocks of seabirds and swans seem to be absent. There is also a lot of water in the marina.

This one has been drying his wings, after some fishing dives in the marina. (grainy due to zoom factor)

oaw - cormorants at Sheringham

Lovely day on the beach at Sheringham. This marker post initially had three cormorants, all drying their wings, but by the time the camera was out of the bag, this was the situation.

A cormorant was wrestling with an eel, but a child (running down the slipway, shouting and screaming) caused it to crash drive into the water, but still holding lunch. I was told later - by one of the trip boat operators - that the eels were often caught by the cormorants, but it was unusual to be able to capture one in the act.
