This fishing boat [B923] is the one that came to grief in early September 2021, and caused some difficulty when the marina / harbour authorities tried to re-float / crane her back upright. The red line is actually a floating boom as an anti-pollution measure.

One crane had already proved insufficient to pick B923 up. A few days after this image was captured, two much larger cranes and pumps were used re-float her. An investigation is underway as to the cause, she went down in a very short space of time. No-one was on board at the time and nobody was injured. The booms were deployed quickly and kept the vast majority of the potential pollution confined [the corner of West Strand had a light diesel film].

"Sophie Dawn" is based in Seahouses, but the fleet number LT 22 is registered to the port of Lowestoft.
