Work has progressed to the fitting planks stage, with the straps holding the body and chassis together now in position. The interior is still in grey undercoat / primer, although the floor planks have had an initial coat of floor paint - and will get several more for additional protection. With the matchboard profile and external framing, extra sealant will be used to prevent water ingress between the frames and planks, this trapped water situation contributed to large areas of rotten woodwork.

Stop Chamfers have been added to various parts of the bodywork, these are the corner posts and mid-frame verticals for one end of the van.

Area damaged, mainly by rot and rusted fasteners, repaired by inserting a section of replacement oak. A surfacing agent has been applied and sanded back to give a smooth and grain-filled surface. Next task will be application of primer ... before another test build of the framework takes place.

With the travels now over, the van's body is tucked into the work bay, which has been cleared [bench etc moved] to accommodate it. The next phase will be to take off the planking and see what state the framework is in after 60-odd years. . . Not my image ; Fair Use & public information

The Corris van body has been supplied with some support and temporary wheels as the chassis / underframe is away in Northumberland, being restored / rebuilt. Now, it is on a trip into another location so the work on the body can commence. . . Not my Image ; Fair Use & public information

The advanced stage of a trial build of the bodywork. Pre-painted planks to increase protection against water ingress / the weather. . One of the next stages is to drill a lot of holes.

Continuing with dry building the ends ... in oak, with some repairs original components. Work has included producing the stop chamfers.

One of four trap doors - just need to trim the ends of the blots flush - before hanging from the pivot bar, which is underneath the centre spine. Apologies for the soft focus, the pointnshoot camera was having an off-day for some reason.

Painting underway on the bodywork planks, currently in light grey undercoat. Note the curved ends to the long planks, these fit into the corner plates (the black upright object is one of the corner plates, with the top plank adjusted to fit). The short end planks are not yet cut to their exact length, once they have been, the end grain will be painted.
