Approaching Tobermory the ferry we were on went past these rugged cliffs of Ardmore Point and discovered a long lasting wake.

I was wondering why a ferry appears to have a derrick / crane built onto the bridge.

Just managed to catch the ferry from Kilchoan (actually they came back for us as prebooked passengers) as the single track road didn't have passing places to get around cattle, lots of sheep and a few vehicles.

ScI - CalMac / Isle of Mull [2 of 2]

Taken from the B&B bedroom window. When I first saw the "Isle of Mull" a couple of minutes before this image, she appeared to be heading straight for land, but then she turned hard to starboard on passing the channel marker. This ferry, as indicated by her name, does the Oban to Mull Cal-Mac service, so is a regular sight.

Taken from the B&B bedroom window. When I first saw the "Isle of Mull" a couple of minutes before this image, she appeared to be heading straight for land, but then she turned hard to starboard on passing the channel marker - that red & white striped pole. This ferry, as indicated by her name, does the Oban to Mull Cal-Mac service, so is a regular sight.
