The first of two Chinooks that flew over my house [13:38 ish BST] - quite low and we definitely heard them coming ... Training exercise at a nearby facility which has been going on for several days and probably the same two were visiting Carlisle Airport - to refuel ? - some time earlier. There's also been a couple of Apache types buzzing about.

Training exercise at a nearby facility which has been going on for several days and probably the same two were visiting Carlisle Airport - to refuel ? - some time earlier. There's also been a couple of Apache types buzzing about.

Twin egg-beater flying northwards. Chinooks have such a distinctive sound, almost didn't need to see it ! Probably going to practice avoiding radar ...
