The main driver recently has been the rocketing increase in oil/gas prices, coupled with Putin's invasion of Ukraine affecting grain and sunflower seed supplies by preventing exports. Before that, one of the side-affects of the Covid pandemic was increased prices - with some price-gouging - especially to certain food staples and use of couriers for deliveries, the cost of which was "hidden" inside price increases as people were not shopping around for good deals. .
