Carrabasset was built in 2004 at Boston Lodge to the order of the late Adrian Shooter for the private Beeches Light Railway at his home. It is based on the Parlor Car #9 "Rangeley" of the Sandy River & Rangeley Lakes Railroad. I had an interesting ride in it, along the Welsh Highland Railway, it seemed to sway a lot, which was not surprising, given the height of the clerestory body. After Adrian died, the BLR collection was dispersed, with the Darjeeling Tank Locomotive Trust buying up a lot of items, most of which were relocated to Statfold. Carrabasset, however, was bought directly by Statfold in 2022. {it is available for hire !}
