wsc[24] - hats on time

27 Dec 2024 1 38
AJSMOC members and guests are enjoying their seasonal holiday meal at the Robin Hood Inn, the food and company were both very good. The efforts to accommodate the 20 or so dinners and their meal choices made by the chefs and other staff were much appreciated by all attending. Next meeting will be on the 7th January 2025 - held back a week to accommodate the New Year celebrations.

wsc[24] - arrivals ...

27 Dec 2024 1 47
AJSMOC members, with some guests, arriving at the Robin Hood Inn for their winter solstice meal. The menu had various seasonal options in the three courses, as expected it was all top notch. We've taken over half the tables in the main bar area, instead of sitting in the "snug" - with 20 people booked in and the new branch mascot ... we needed the extra space.

sbr - leaving ...

Some people were starting to drift off - perhaps in search of lunch ... although at least one group were off to try each other's transport. The Market Cross aka the Butter Cross [to the left] had been taken over the local WI [?] who were dispensing hot & cold / soft drinks as well as sweet and savoury snacks. Plus the Ice Cream van ... which was very useful. {Alcohol was available from the Swinburne Arms, if you wanted it, but I don't drink and drive, especially when on a bike. The Bay Horse, in the background, has - sadly - been closed for some years}

sbr - Nortons

There were quite a few Norton M/bikes present, mostly big twins and garnering a good deal of interest.

sbr - Tiny ! {2 of 2}

Tiny Green Honda, built in 1973, only 70cc. regno GJR 28L I wouldn't, normally, say any rice-burner's cute, but this one is, as well as interesting - and it wasn't unpleasant to listen to as it went past.

A 2008 Moto Guzzi outfit, from the front, the engine is 1064cc. [I didn't make a note of the chair] regno NK08 HWP. Sadly for the owner, it didn't seem to generate quite as much interest as the RE outfit.
