HRA[25] - Spring Conference

07 Mar 2025 17
The 2025 Spring Conference was well attended, with very interesting & thought-provoking presentations. Looking forward to studying the "handouts" ... As usual, made time to talk about potential work etc during networking sessions - during coffee breaks, over lovely meals and in the evenings, as well.

A decorative modern chandelier in the lobby / atrium of the Crowne Plaza hotel, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. . {I should declare my interest, I used to work for a well-known firm of interior designers and still enjoy spotting such things - one this size would not have been a cheap item}.

HRA[24s] - Venue Cymru Llandudno

Just part of the frontage for Venue Cymru. It is much more than "just" a theatre. I think this was a good choice of venue, tbh. . en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venue_Cymru

hra[24s] - WCM Chapel, built 1905 & Grade II list…

08 Apr 2024 1 44
Seilo Welsh Calvinistic Methodist Chapel, Arvon Ave, Llandudno C&P from RCAHMW entry Seilo Methodist Chapel was first built in 1813 on another site, and was moved to the present site in 1855. The 1855 chapel was a simple structure, which was modified in 1874 to include a gallery, while a chapel house and schoolroom were added in 1884. A request from younger members of the congregation to install an organ resulted in the decision to build a new chapel. The present chapel is a rebuild from 1905, designed by architect George Alfred Humphries of Llandudno and built in the Baroque style of the gable entry type at a cost of £8,779. A prominent feature of this Chapel is the flanking towers and the prominent use of red sandstone. The interior is more traditional with a magnificant gallery. The chapel is the largest in Llandudno (with seating for 1000 people) and is now Grade II listed [March 2016]. My Image; info from coflein.gov.uk/en/site/6904
