Armstrong Whitworth [Gloster] Meteor NF14 WS832. The airframe & engines were originally developed in the 1940s, and were the first allied jet fighter to achieve operational status in WW2. WS832 is one of the night fighter variants, which displaced the Mosquito. This particular aircrat was built in 1954. Her service included postings to Llanbedr Unit "W" [the All Weather Conversion unit] and time with the Radar establishment at Malvern. She arrived at SAM on the 14th January 1977, as a swop for an airworthy D.H. Vampire, XZ507.

Ok, this looks unusual. . This twin cockpit Meteor was used to test the theory that the pilot could fly in the face down prone position. This was determined to be possible, but not for prolonged periods or during rapid manoeuvring, so the theory was quietly dropped.
