whn[25] - froth clumps

The high tide "waterfall" over the inner sea lock gate is creating a lot of "froth" - and clumps of this are being blown over into this corner of the harbour.

This morning's tide is very high, so part of the C2C sign is underwater.

Incoming - two swans just landing !
15 swans - I think three or four of them were juveniles, as in still had grey / cygnet coloured plumage.
Yes, the water is still orange with "rust" from mine water, and has been since about November 2022. Some of the swans are somewhat stained, but a trip out to sea seems to get them clean again.

There is an 8.3m high [spring] tide outside the sea lock, and a certain amount of seawater is allowed to overflow the gates - although the marina is already quite full with the rusty water.
This is producing quite some froth, and the wind is blowing some of it across towards the Fish Quay.

"Cracking" the outer gates open by a small amount at high tide is part of the usual process needed to "flush" the marina. Sadly the present pollution by mine waste water is largely preventing that.
whn[25] - wind-blown

The "froth" that is created at the sea lock - due to very high tide - has been blown across the harbour.
Note also the "rusty" colour, due to untreated "mine water" entering via a small culverted beck - this has been happening since Nov 2022.

Ready or not ... as the wind has dropped 'Emma' is about to be relaunched by the marina's boat lift ...
After that ladder is removed, of course.

Manoeuvring the boatlift ... nearly as impressive of the multi-wheel road trailers for moving abnormal loads.

Yes, It WILL fit, you put Emma here so you can pick her up again.
[note - the nearer pair of wheels are independently steerable]

Just a couple of minor nudges to the line up ... whilst someone goes aboard to double check that everything is secure for the lift, and then removes the ladder.

Having hooked up the strops, the operator is currently checking that everyone is clear before doing a short lift.

The wooden props are now all on the ground, and we can do the last patches of anti-fouling ...
Oh, should add that the noises they made as they hit the hard ground was quite tuneful and caused a smile or two.

Heading for the launching dock.
[the puddle is from the previous boat, she was lifted out to have her bottom scrubbed - pressure- washed & brushed - then immediately relaunched, actually it took them very little time but got a lot of water on the hard ...]
