Another RAF site that is mentioned in the displays ... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAF_Cark RAF Cark [near Flookborough] was only operational for a few years and was quickly returned to civilian use [gliding, parachuting and other activities]. I've been there several times, as it is the location for the Cumbrian Steam Gathering, which usually takes place on the third weekend in July.
